Flamsted was founded in 2025 by Kitter Spater (that’s me) with the mission of creating innovative, stylistic architectural details to enhance and rebuild building aesthetics while maintaining code safety standards.

The idea of Flamsted came in 2023 while restoring a historic synagogue in Vermont I was faced with the challenge of finding period accurate fixtures that met current code. The first synagogue in Vermont, built in 1885 is listed on the National Historic Registry (LINK) for architectural and religious reasons. While updating the building I found it hard to match existing molding and I was not happy with the market available exit signs, which contrasted to the period restoration work. Thus the idea was born to use modern 3D printing techniques to recreate period molding and aesthetically congruent exit signs.
