Flamsted of Vermont designs and produces architecturally inspired exit signs that merge safety with style.. Their collection re imagines the traditional exit sign with influences from Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, International Style, Prairie School, Gothic Revival, Craftsman, Colonial, Modern, Contemporary, Mediterranean and more—turning functional safety equipment into design statements.and custom-branded exit sign solutions. Flamsted takes pride in producing a diverse selection of products that are in compliance with relevant codes.

Founded in 2025 by Kitter Spater (that’s me) the idea of Flamsted came in 2023 while restoring a historic synagogue in Vermont I was faced with the challenge of finding period accurate fixtures that met current code. The first synagogue in Vermont, built in 1885 is listed on the National Historic Registry (LINK) for architectural and religious reasons. While updating the building I found it hard to match existing molding and I was not happy with the market available exit signs, which contrasted to the period restoration work. Thus the idea was born to use modern 3D printing techniques to recreate period molding and aesthetically congruent exit signs.
