Flamsted engages in the design, development, and manufacture of a comprehensive array of exit signs. This includes architectural designs inspired by various historical periods, contemporary styles, and custom-branded exit sign solutions. Flamsted takes pride in producing a diverse selection of products that are in compliance with relevant codes.

Founded in 2025 by Kitter Spater (that’s me) the idea of Flamsted came in 2023 while restoring a historic synagogue in Vermont I was faced with the challenge of finding period accurate fixtures that met current code. The first synagogue in Vermont, built in 1885 is listed on the National Historic Registry (LINK) for architectural and religious reasons. While updating the building I found it hard to match existing molding and I was not happy with the market available exit signs, which contrasted to the period restoration work. Thus the idea was born to use modern 3D printing techniques to recreate period molding and aesthetically congruent exit signs.
