The Flamsted National Forest Service branded Exit Sign is a prime example of blending the NFS iconic entry sign with an updated modern version of an exit sign.
The National Forest System, encompassing 193 million acres (780,000 km2) of public land, is made up of 155 national forests and 20 national grasslands. These lands, located across 44 states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, make up 9% of the United States' total land area. With a mission to sustainably manage these forests and meet the diverse needs of people, the National Forest Service ensures an ecological approach is used to protect and utilize these resources.
